He was predeceased by: his wife Carol McDaniel; and his sons, Chad McDaniel and Brad McDaniel. He is survived by: his daughters, Kelly Crosby (Kenny) and Andrea McDaniel-Ferguson (Michael); his grandchildren, Genia Tulikangas (Owen), Colt Crosby (Crystal), Tiffany Flanary (Jack), James Neff (Rachel), Shelbie Hollingsworth (Casey), Wyatt McDaniel (Savannah), Hunter McDaniel (Marissa), Felton McDaniel, Morgan Ellis and Megan Ellis; his great grandchildren, Rachael, Molly, Olivia, Chloe, Jonni, Case, Peyton, Joshua, Gabriel and Laynee; and his siblings, Bonnie McGowan, Euthabell Taylor, Esther Sowell and Donnie Wynn. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; as well as sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
