He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas LaPenna (Lucia Silvestri LaPenna) and Dr. LaPenna. He is survived by: his wife Dr. Beverly Fuller-LaPenna; his sons, Nicholas LaPenna and Michael LaPenna (Michelle); and his sister Philomena "Mae" Baratta. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
His visionary leadership took him to national assignments, including impactful work in Washington, D.C. with the Ford Foundation and Assistant Superintendent of Schools.
