Cheryl Watson wrote a sympathy message

“My sincere condolences to the family of Mavis. Growing up in Brewer, Maine, Mavis (Mrs. Falvey to me) were neighbors and she and my mother were both swimming instructors and good friends. Mavis taught me to kickboard at the Brewer pool when I was about six years old and passed me (after my second try) to swim in the deep end when I was a preteen. I remember her "trick", walking on the bottom of the pool. Mavis was one of a kind, an outgoing, strong, and caring person. I will never forget her.”

Lee Rider Stymie wrote a sympathy message

“Dennis, I'm so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. All those long winter evenings of practice at the Bangor Y and her very cold VW bug. I have never forgotten those practices and meets. And now I find out she lived in Vero. The place I first moved too when I came down. Still here, just on the other coast. Sincerely, Leigh Stymiest”
