He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Norwood Ridge and D. C. of Washington; his wife Patsy Ridge; and his brothers, Walter N. Ridge Jr. and Walter Sinsing.

He is survived by: his children, Richard Ridge (Anne Marie) of Fort Pierce and Rebecca "Becky" Smetzer (Ty) of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania; and his siblings, John and Debby Hampton of Waynesboro. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as many lifelong friends.
