William Knowles Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Knowles in Vero Beach, Florida, born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, who passed away on April 28, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Bourne Knowles, Jr. and Edith Knowles (Phillips); his children, Erika Schultz (Michael), Russell Knowles and Alexander Knowles (Susan); his stepchildren, Jeneen Masih, Daniel Graovac and Kevin Graovac (Diane); his grandchildren, Tyler, Alyson, Lyndsie Schultz, Danae, Alexander II (Mikaela), Abigail, William Knowles, Beatrice, Katherine Masih, Jack and Lucie Graovac; his great grandchild Maya Knowles; his siblings, Bourne Knowles and Elizabeth Ladd; and his wife Linda Marie Knowles (Barrett). He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

In recognition of his contributions to the Salty Dawg Sailing Association as a Founder and President, Bill was awarded the honorary title of President Emeritus.
