It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Larry James Thornton of Wauchula, Florida, who passed away on October 12, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Thornton and Mamie Hodges Thornton. He is survived by: his wife Holly Fralish Thornton; his children, Jennifer Wheeler (Thomas) of Zolfo Springs, FL, Heather Fairfield (Tyler) of Wauchula, FL, Rachelle Hopper of Quincy, FL and Cesnie Heggie of Zolfo Springs, FL.; his sister Nancy Hensley of South Carolina; and his great grandchildren, Celeste Williams, Michael Youngblood, Miles Yates, Taylor Yates, Quinton Yates, Garrett Williams of Jordan Yates, T. J, Wheeler and Sebastian Youngblood.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home (205 N 9th Ave, Wauchula, FL 33873). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Wauchula City Cemetery (1140 Hwy 17, Wauchula, FL 33873).
