He was predeceased by : his parents, Tomas Gomez-Ruiz and Juana Andrea Arrez; and his siblings, Saluco Gomez-Arrez, Ramiro Gomez-Arrez, Armando Gomez-Arrez, Agustin Gomez-Arrez, Eugenio Gomez-Arrez, Imelda Gomez-Arrez and Graciela Gomez-Arrez.

He is survived by : his wife Juvenia Gomez of Wauchula, FL.; his children, Tomas Gomez (Antonia) of Wauchula, FL., Mario Gomez (Bella) of Wauchula, FL., Jose Gomez (Liberty) of Wauchula, FL. and Esmerelda Gonzales (Jose) of Wauchula, FL.; and his sisters, Gloria Gomez-Arrez and Maria Elena Gomez-Arrez. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
