He was predeceased by: his father Robert Eli Kay. He is survived by: his wife Susy Kay; his children, Mark Kay, Maria Thornal (Chris), Christopher Matilszki (Rebecca), Jess Miller and Averley Rilea-Kay; his grandchildren, Jack Thornal and MiaRose Matilszki; his mother Sharon Chandler; and his sisters, Rhonda Kay and Tara Kay.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge in Tampa, Florida, a program providing free housing to cancer patients undergoing treatment.
