She was predeceased by: her parents, Solomon David and Lydia Darrah Saunders; her husband Howard; her stepson Freddie; her grandson Lorenzo Smallwood; her siblings, Rose Fitzgerald (Fred), Evelyn Oakley (Edgar), Irene Hoffler (Oswald), Leroy (Melva), Shirley and Roland Saunders (Gladys); and her nieces and nephews, Paula Fitzgerald Weakley, Deborah Oakley, Kenneth Saunders, Roland Jefferson "Jeff" and Alice Marie Saunders.
She is survived by: her friends, Helen and Grace Episcopal Church; her children, David Smallwood, Gayle, Philip (Teresa) and Lisa Smallwood; her grandchildren, Chad McBrayer, Ashley Smallwood (London Jackson) and Dexter Clasberry; her great grandchildren, Gequanta Clea, Lauren, Lorenzo Smallwood, Kalia Peay, Ava, Cheyenne, Cali Clasberry and Lexington Jackson; her sister-in-law Arlene Dolores Saunders; and her niece Darrah Hall. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
