He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Rachelle Gonzalez, David Betancourt (Marlene) and Jennifer Smith; his sibling Alcides Betancourt (Maria Elana); his grandchildren, Alexander (Ashley), Nicole, Lauren, Andrew, Jacqueline (Justin), Sabrina, Logan, Amanda and Ella; and his great grandchildren, Amelia and Hannah.
The family suggests donations in Rene's memory be made to: Inter-American Chapter of Hadassah.
