Joyce Elaine (Coe) Kurr Obituary
Joyce Elaine (Coe) Kurr of Winter Haven, Florida passed away on November 25, 2022 at the age of 89, just 5 days shy of her 90th birthday. She was born on Novemebr 30, 1952, in Sebewa, Michigan, where she and her brother, Larry, grew up on the family farm.
She graduated from High School in Lake Odessa, Michigan in 1950, and went on to Bronson School of Nursing, in Kalamazoo.
Joyce worked in the medical field, managing the office of Dr. Batista in Ionia, and for a number of doctors in the Grand Rapids area and, later, as the Office Manager for the Orlando Clinic, in Orlando, Florida.
Joyce loved her family, and each of her children could count on getting a phone call on Saturdays, detailing what each of the other children were up to. She kept everyone connected. She loved playing cards, especially Pinocle. She also enjoyed ceramics, and passed on many of her creations to her children.
Joyce was preceded in death by; her husband, Robert, her daughter and son-in-law, Lynann and Bill Schmalz, her son-in-law, Jeff Holder, her parents, Wilma and Ralph Coe, and, her brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Jean Coe.
She is survived by her children; Debbie (Kurr) and Fred Post of Lakeland, Florida, Randy and Sharon Kurr of Monroe, North Carolina, Rodney and Sheila Kurr of Sevierville, Tennessee, Theresa Kurr Holder of Davenport, Florida, and Roger and Yulian Kurr of Miramar, Florida. Joyce is also survived by many, much loved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Joyce married Robert Francis Kurr in December of 1952 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Robert was in the Army and they traveled to many states and countries during their marriage. She knew she would never be content to live the farm life.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Family Extended Care (Hawthorne Inn) in Winter Haven, for the care and compassion they showed Joyce during her final days, especially Tracy, Marie and Leslie, who in many ways became like family.
Joyce’s remains will be interred at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, in Gotha, Florida, where family will gather to say their final goodbyes. Her remains will lie next to the love of her life, Robert. We know they will finally be together again in Heaven.
