He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Hibbard Matlack and Mabel Mary Matlack; and his sons, Thomas Peter Matlack, James Lewis Matlack and Douglas Edward Matlack.

He is survived by: his wife Caroline A. Matlack; and his children, Michael Patrick Matlack, Richard Denton Matlack, Teresa Rose McDonald, Carol Lynne Uhrich and Joseph Daniel Matlack. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vitas Hospice in Delbert's honor.
