He is survived by: his wife Barbara Myrick Cathey; and his children, Edwin M. Cathey Jr. of Wilmington, Rodney W. Cathey of Orlando and Deborah Cathey Tual of Stamford. He is also survived by six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
