He is survived by: his wife Bobbie Mertes of Youngstown, FL; his sons, Joe Mertes (Lisa) of Panama City, FL and David Mertes (Shawn Kearney) of Panama City, FL; his grandchildren, Taylor Mertes and Eloise Mertes; and his siblings, Chuck Mertes (Chris), Margaret Montemorano (Tom), Frank Mertes Ed (Kim), Shirley Hamm (Chuck Hamm), Fred Mertes (Lorraine), Patty Helminiak (Joe) and Tom Mertes Mary (Misty). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
