He was predeceased by: his parents, Alveda L. Thurm (Bergmann) and Ervin Walter Thurm. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Risse; his sons, Christopher Thurm (Trisha) of Lancaster, CA and Todd Thurm (Liz Angelo) of Tampa, FL; his grandchildren, Dalton, Mason and Sophia Thurm; his stepgrandchildren, Gianna and Anna Marie Franfico; and his siblings, Dale Thurm of Anamosa, IA and Jill (Larry Smith) of Tripoli, IA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
