She was predeceased by: her parents, Lonnie Thurston Rooks and Anna Louise Woodard; her husband David Payne; her daughter Melissa Dennard; her stepchildren, Betty Sue Nelson and David Payne; and her great grandchild Khloe West.

She is survived by: her children, Kevin Dennard (Bertha), Kathy Soloman (Stephen) and Katrina Dennard; and her sister Katherine Rooks.
