He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Mitchell and Ida Mae Clements Mitchell; and his sister Thelma Gibbs. He is survived by : his wife Paula Mitchell of Abbeville; his children, James Mitchell, Jody of Abbeville, Christy Lovett and Dan of Abbeville; his grandchildren, Levi, Daisy Hudson, Gracie, Dylan Wade, Walker Hudson and Zoey Mitchell; and his siblings, Charlie Mae Teal of Rochelle, Charles, Rita Mitchell of Valley Head, Howard and Nancy Mitchell of Ocilla.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Paulk Funeral Home (301 S Main St, Fitzgerald, GA 31750). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
