He was predeceased by: his parents, Billy Ray Baxter and Inez Holt Baxter; and his niece Stephanie Kay Wilmot. He is survived by: his wife Kay Baxter; his children, Andrew Wilmot (Ashton) and Kristin Reeves (Brandon); his granddaughter Callie Cantrell; his siblings, Susan Gilley (Melvin), Mark Baxter and Billy Baxter; his sister-in-law Charlene Kay; his nieces and nephews, Matthew (Hannah), Michael (Brandy), Marie (Brad) and Ann (Timothy); and his pets, Lucky, Cammie and Bae Bee.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Rockmart Second Baptist Church (112 S Piedmont Ave, Rockmart, GA 30153).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Alan's memory to the Lupus Foundation of America, Georgia Chapter, or PanCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network).
