She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Eloise Kirby Baker and Amos Baker; her husband Billy Carter; her granddaughter Heather Carter; her son-in-law Joseph Travis Ellis; her siblings, Franklin Baker, Joe Baker, Huey Baker and Helen Baker Redding; and her children, Peggy Carter Ellis, Gail Carter Gibbs, Kathy Carter Lawhorn (Tommy), Karen Carter Taylor (Gary), Kent Carter (Hilda) and Billy Van Carter. She was also cherished by "Nanny" by her 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
