She was predeceased by: her father John Austin Barker; and her husband Virgil "Gene" Atkinson. She is survived by: her mother Martha Agnes Murphy Barker; her sons, Clark (Connie Wheeler) and Greg (Pam Wheeler); her grandchildren, Richard Wheeler (Ashley), Ashley Mathews (Micah), Brandon Wheeler (Sharon) and Brittany Mulkey (Brandon); her great grandchildren, Gavin, Holdan, Annalynn, Kainoa, Kaileia, Kaikoa, Eli, Avery and Cohen; her stepchildren, Lee (Stacey Atkinson) of Eatonton, Georgia and Kim Atkinson Adams of Adrian, Georgia; and her sister Barbara Ray of Adel. She is also survived by five step-grandchildren.
