We announce the death of Shirley Lipsey of Adel, Georgia, who passed away on October 4, 2026, at the age of 75. Shirley will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Shirley will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Shirley will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Shirley’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Douglas and Eula Johnston Douglas; and her siblings, Danny Douglas, Sharon Byars and Sandra Deen.
She is survived by: her husband Ron Lipsey of Adel; her children, Lori Smith (Steven) of Adel and Jon Lipsey of Adel; and her brother Don Douglas of Alma. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (200 E 5th St, Adel, GA 31620). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
