He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee Whitley and Doris Shaw Whitley; his wife Sue Whitley; and his siblings, Ruby Gray, Linda Taylor (Troy), Annell Bradford, Carroll Whitley, Jerry Whitley and Ronald "Larry" Whitley.
He is survived by: his daughter Stacey Whitley of Nashville; his sister Jo Ann Knight (Dennis) of Ochlocknee; his granddaughter Amber Harris (Cody) of Adel; his great grandchildren, Oliver and Olivia Harris; his brothers, Robert "Bud" Whitley of Alapaha, Terrell Whitley of Alapaha, Wayman Whitley of Nashville, Earl Whitley of Nashville and Clifton "Kip" Whitley (Shirley) of Tifton; his nieces, Candi McClellan (Russ), Felecia Horne and Nikki Whitley; and his nephew Bert Whitley. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
