It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cornell Redding Jr. (Albany, Georgia), born in Edison, Georgia, who passed away on July 6, 2025, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornell Redding Sr. and Mary Lois Byrd Redding; and his sister Mary Nell Wright. He is survived by: his siblings, Barbara Ann Williams and Willie Redding; his children, Deborah Redding, Cornelia Redding and Demetria Redding; and his grandchildren, Braylin James, Ian James and Caden Tew. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Doretha H. Payne Chapel at Martin Luther King Funeral Home (1908 Martin Luther King Jr Dr, Albany, GA 31701). A burial was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at the Cherry Hill Baptist Church Cemetery (2610 Laing Crossroad, Dawson, GA 39842).
