He was predeceased by: his mother Louise Black; his brothers, Dan and James; and his former wife Louise Crowe Black. He is survived by: his wife Gail Bruce Black; his children, Donna Flowers (Ronnie) and Michael Ryan Black; his grandchildren, Brent Moreland (Jennifer), Justin Flowers and Mallory Eubanks (Ryan); and his great grandchildren, Elsa, Kathryn Moreland, Weston and Audrey Eubanks.
