She was predeceased by : her parents, Emma Lean Sumbry and Deacon Milton Lee Sumbry; and her siblings, Milton Lee Sumbry Jr., Willie Lee Sumbry, Walter Lee Sumbry and Irish Sumbry.

She is survived by : her children, Carl King Jr. and Carlissia King; her siblings, Geraldine Hampton of Albany, GA, Chester Sumbry (Sharon) of Albany, GA, Franklin Sumbry (Angela) of Albany, GA, Eddie Price (Mary) of Albany, GA, Mesha Lawrence (Torrence) of Columbus, GA and Valerie Mainer of Savannah, GA.; her granddaughter Saniyah Summerville; and her sisters-in-law, Etha Sumbry and Lucy Sumbry. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church (1501 Newton Rd, Albany, GA 31701). A burial was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at the Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery (120 Old Pretoria Rd, Albany, GA 31721).
