He was predeceased by: his parents, James Frank and Reba Huntsinger Wood; his siblings, Kay Underwood and James Wood; and his grandson Seth Wood.
He is survived by: his friend Georgia; his children, Michael Scott Wood of Middleburg, John Frank Wood and Dena Wood McElhannon (Jonathan) of Winder; his sister Judy Tate (Georgia) of Jefferson; his grandchildren, Sara, Hamilton and Josephine; and his sister-in-law Jean Wood of Martin. He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
