He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Clifford Courson and Louise Dixon Courson; his son-in-law Timothy Stevens; his stepmother Iris Durrance Courson; and his siblings, Harry, Larry Courson, Aaron "Cotton" Durrance, Clyde, David, Harold, Lamar Durrance, Lera Hyers, Ora Lee Hagan, Roselyn Lovell and Lee Courson Carroll.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Wisse Courson; his daughters, Melissa Lewis (Andy) of Alma and Tina Stevens of Alma; his grandchildren, Anna Crapps (Jed), Ethan Lewis, Hunter Roberson (Julee), Tyler Roberson (Taylor), Ava, Ella Lewis and Jasper Stevens; his great grandchild Will Crapps; and his siblings, Howard Courson, Glynn Durrance (Carolyn) of Alabama and Linda Palmer (Al) of Blackshear.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church (551 Pine Level Church Rd, Alma, GA 31510). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
