He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Hyers and Lennie Crapps Hyers of Alma, Georgia.; and his wife Louise James of Blackshear. He is survived by: his son John Hyers, Jr.; his granddaughter Hannah Barber (Trey); his great grandchildren, Liam and Ava Louise; and his nieces and nephews, Chery McKinnon, Audrey Varnadore (Robert), George, Patti Stokes, Clyde Stokes, Terry Stokes and Ohlen Bramblett. He is also survived by several great nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
