He was predeceased by: his parents, Moses Herring and Margaret Vining Herring; and his wife Brenda Wiles Herring. He is survived by: his children, Steven Tate (Brittany) of Nicholls, Roy Tate of Tifton, GA and Rosina Gray (Chet) of Lake City, FL. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
