It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charlie J. Lail Sr. of Alpharetta, Georgia, who passed away on September 20, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Charlie may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arling James and Cleo Smith Lail; and his son Charlie J. Lail, Jr. (Jody). He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Lee Lail; his children, Chris Lail (Karla) of Sharpsburg, Patrick Lail (Charlotte) of Atlanta and Betsy Fitzhenry (Dave) of Rydal; and his daughter-in-law Nancy Lail of Buford. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, and three great-grandsons.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Northside Chapel Funeral Directors & Crematory (12050 Crabapple Rd, Roswell, GA 30075). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 29th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alpharetta Methodist Church Music Department.
