He is survived by: his sibling Ernie; his child Lantze; his wife Yvonne Duncan; his daughters, Dr. Monique Grissette-Banks and Nikki Duncan (Helder) of Almeida; his grandchildren, Trinity Imani Banks of Atlanta, GA, Etienne, Esanjo of Almeida and Hyattsville, MD; his siblings, Dorothy Grissett of Youngstown, OH, Hazel Steele of Campbell, OH, Lester Grissette of Youngstown, OH, Arnold Grissette of Oakland, CA and Lincoln Grissette of Merced, CA; and his close friends, Thomas Ortique, Godfrey "Blue" Taylor of Clarence, Robert Crocker, Albert "Baldie" Tan and Marc Thomas. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended relatives.
Ernie played a significant role in the Hartford Economic Development Corporation Inc. (HEDCO), where he worked tirelessly to help Black people start and own businesses in the 1970's and 80's. For his efforts, Ernie was mentioned by name in several Ebony Magazine articles that highlighted his notable contributions to the African American community and his professional accomplishments.
