It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorene Bowen Ferguson of Alto, Georgia, who passed away on November 27, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Donnie Lee Bowen and Monteen Arflin Bowen; her sons-in-law, John Henry Morris and David Wood; and her siblings, Morgan Bowen, Billy Bowen, Donnie Bowen, Jr., Melvin Bowen, Lucille Hatfield, Ruth Hester and Orabelle Martin.
She is survived by: her husband Robert Ferguson of Alto; her daughter Tammy Wood of Alto; her grandchildren, Hallie Gilleland of Cornelia, Nicole, Jason Bailes of Cornelia and James Wood of Forest Hill, CA; her great grandchildren, Brinkley Gilleland, Kaylyn Bales, Jaden Bales, Justin Bales and Dakota Wood; and her brother Jerry Bowen of Pendergrass. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
