He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Patrick and Virgie D. Drake; his wives, Betty Drake and Donna Drake; his grandson Jonathan Drake; and his siblings, Ernest Patrick Drake, Kenneth Drake, Louise Scott, Onzell Lathan, Helen Ruth Leath and Margie Varnum.

He is survived by: his son Buddy Drake; his grandson Matthew Drake; his great grandchildren, Hannah, Angel and Michelle Drake; his sisters, Magaleen "Mary" Clanton, Doris Virginia Clanton and Patricia Ann Tomlinson; and his cousin D. C. Drake.

Visitation was held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Sunset Memorial Gardens (120 Upper River Rd, Americus, GA 31709). A graveside service was held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
