He was predeceased by : his parents, Wilmer Eurselle Barnette and Mary Elizabeth Clark Barnette; his siblings, Vivian Marney, Wilmer Eurselle Barnette "Will" and Andy Barnette; and his brother-in-law Thomas Padgett.
He is survived by : his wife Patricia Ann Padgett Barnette of Americus; his children, Heather Marie Barnette Raymond (Timothy) of Vancleave, MS, Samantha Lynn Barnette Bodiford (Derek) of Plains, John Michael Barnette, Jr. of Americus and David Lawerence Barnette of Americus; his siblings, Desiree Wood of California, Jackie Vogt of Arizona, Robert Barnette (Linda) of Virginia and David Barnette (Dianna) of Virginia; his siblings-in-law, Belinda Seymour and Patrick Padgett; his grandchildren, Alexis Raymond, Brooke Raymond, David Barnette, Jr., Michael O'Connor III, Lacy Barnette, Logan Barnette, Wyatt Bodiford and Paxton Bodiford; and his great grandchild Kynlee Ballard.
