He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Sherman Gooden and Margie Lee Rice Gooden; and his sister Margaret Culverhouse. He is survived by: his wife Martha Patricia Hobbs Gooden of Americus; his daughters, Sherry Lynn Gooden Sanders (Faron) of Carrollton, GA and Sharon Kay Gooden King (Cody) of Americus; his grandchildren, Steven Patrick Gooden of Longwood, FL., Matthew Sanders (Kayley), Justin Sanders, Weston King (Madison) and Kelsey Finney (Martinez); and his great grandchildren, Hadley Sanders, Hayden Kate Sanders, Harrison King, Emma King, Bo King and Finney.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Aldridge Funeral Services (612 Reese Park, Americus, GA 31709). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (612 Reese Park, Americus, GA 31709).
