He was predeceased by: his parents, Hudson C. Morris and Lillie Mae Morris; his stepmother Meadie Morris; his brothers, Herbert Morris and Cameron Morris; his nephew John Rowland; and his great-nephew Michael T. Morris.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Morris; his children, Vic Morris (Charlotte), Tony Morris (Shelly), Howard (J. R'Helms), Amy Ross (Paul), Kathy Flanigan (Andy), Sylvia Helms and Annie Bellavia (Scott); his siblings, Saralyn Rowland, Erma Garrett (John) and Artrelle Morris; his grandchildren, Molly Taunton (Colton), Susie Morris, Scott Morris, Jason Ross (Karen), Jessica Ross, Will, Sophie, Evan, Oliver Flanigan, Gabe, Hudson and Lillie Bellavia; and his great grandchildren, Caroline, Avery Taunton, Everly Hughes, Joseph, Jacob, Morgan and Marian Ross. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 23rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Williams Road Church of Christ (110 Williams Rd, Americus, GA 31709). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Williams Road Church of Christ at 110 Williams Road for the Thaxton Scholarship Fund.
