He was predeceased by : his parents, Rufus Coleman and Thelma Coleman; and his brothers, Willard Coleman, Rufus Coleman, Ralph Coleman and Ronald Coleman.

He is survived by : his wife Laverne "Cookie" Coleman (Sears Catalog) of Americus; his son Dr. Raymond Coleman, Jr. (Glennis) of Douglas; and his grandson John Christopher Coleman of Stone Mountain.
