He was predeceased by: his parents, James Madison Lynwood Comer and LaVerne Mackin Comer. He is survived by: his significant other Mary Dial Comer; his children, Clay Comer (Leigh Anne) of Columbus and Carin Comer-Villeneuve (Pete) of Lakeville, Massachusetts.; his grandchildren, Gabriel Villeneuve, Ariel Villeneuve, Luke Villeneuve and Savannah Comer; his brother Bruce Comer (Susan) of Griffin, Georgia; his nephews, David Comer (Mary) and Stephen Comer (Natalie); and his pet Charlotte Grace.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Methodist Church Music Fund.
