It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Alan Lane of Americus, Georgia, born in San Diego, California, who passed away on December 31, 2020, at the age of 58, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his mother Mary N. Lane. He is survived by: his father Johnny Lane; his daughter Kayleigh Grace Lane (Ross Goforth); his sister Dr. Trish Lane (Deanna Purvis); his stepmother Beth Lane of Americus, GA; his stepsiblings, Steve Lewis of Hagerstown, MD, David Lewis and Becky Lewis Forrester; his brother Russell; and his friend Layne.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Sumter Humane Society.

“My heart is so heavy. Life can be so unfair. I’m so angry that God is taking my brother from us all. All my life I dreamed of having an older brother that I could look up to. I always felt something missing from my life. When I did the 23 and me a couple years ago I found that I had a brother Rick Lane. I was so excited and happy to meet him. I flew out and spend time with him. We’ve kept in contact almost every day. I hurt so bad that I can’t call my brother and hear his voice. Great talks”
