He is survived by: his wife Shirley Jerkins of Americus; his sister Helen Cadenhead of Phenix City; his sons, Jeff Jerkins (Paula) of Savannah and Brett Jerkins (Beth) of Americus; his son-in-law Donald Ritch of Americus; and his grandchildren, Kristin Black, Kerri DeVane, Michael Jerkins, Chad Jerkins, Will Jerkins and Dillan Jerkins. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, his family request contributions to Amazing Grace Baptist Church.
