He was predeceased by: his parent Arson; his daughter Becky Ritch of Americus; and his brother-in-law Lu Cadenhead. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Jerkins of Americus; his sister Helen Cadenhead of Phenix City; his sons, Jeff Jerkins (Paula) of Savannah and Brett Jerkins (Beth) of Americus; his son-in-law Donald Ritch of Americus; and his grandchildren, Kristin Black, Kerri DeVane, Michael Jerkins, Chad Jerkins, Will Jerkins and Dillan Jerkins. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Amazing Grace Baptist Church (947 Felder St, Americus, GA 31709). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Andersonville National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, his family request contributions to Amazing Grace Baptist Church.
