He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert L. Gray and Mary Martin Gray; his son Barry "Doc" Lanier Gray; and his sister Ann Darden. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Ann "Boots" Gray; his grandchildren, Dr. Hardy L. Gray (Lundie) and Amy Elmore Heath (Matthew); and his great grandchildren, Amellia Gray, Parker Gray, Jewels Gray, Hudson Gray and Braden Heath.
