It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leon Russell Craig of Arnoldsville, Georgia, who passed away on December 3, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Walker Craig and Margaret "Doodie" Craig; and his wife Melissa Dockery Craig. He is survived by: his children, Amanda Swanner (David), Courtney Hancock (Bubba) and Brentlee "DJ" Craig; his grandchildren, Hailey Swanner, Amber Swanner, Alexis Craig, Chase Craig and Bradley Swanner; his siblings, Donna Jones (George), Jan Spradley (Kenny), Michael Craig (Suzie), Daniel Craig (Karen) and Paul Craig (Monica); and his in-laws, Roland and Sandra Dockery. He is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes (4355 Lexington Rd, Athens, GA 30605). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 at the Temple United Methodist Church (2467 Wire Bridge Rd, Arnoldsville, GA 30619).
