He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander MacKenzie and Victoria DeSilva MacKenzie; his wife Patricia Jean Johnson MacKenzie; and his sister Barbara Brauman. He is survived by: his daughters, Julee Schoenfeld (Gordon), Jennifer MacKenzie and Alexis Dickerson (Andrew); and his grandchildren, Ryan, Connor, Amelia Schoenfeld and Everett Dickerson.
A graveside service was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Oconee Hill Cemetery (297 Cemetery St, Athens, GA 30605).
