She was predeceased by: her husband Charles F. Hicks; her parents, Grady F. Stutts and Bernice Tillman Stutts; and her brother Neil Stutts. She is survived by: her sister Marie Stutts Fail; and her children, Claude Hicks, Bryan Hicks, Mary Ann Sullivan and Carole Lee Hicks. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Barbara's honor to one of the following organizations: Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, The Hospice Foundation, or the Alzheimer's Association.
