Barbara Surface Bankston Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Barbara Surface Bankston of Athens, Georgia, who passed away on December 14, 2023 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Cress Surface and Mary Surface. She is survived by : her daughter Quinn Bankston; her stepson Dustin Garber; her husband Mel Garber; her daughter Brittany Williams (Eric); her stepdaughter Raegan Le Douaron (Julien); her grandchildren, Lucas and Lucie Le Douaron; her sisters, Cindi Swilley (Tom) and Teresa Bolden (Ed); and her nephews, Jake Bolden (Theresa) and Ben Bolden (Lindsey).

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Quinn Bankston Fund at Park Avenue Church (100 East Park Avenue, Valdosta, GA 31602) or the University of Georgia CARE Center (Institute of Gerontology, Hudson Hall, University of Georgia, 102 Spear Road, Athens, GA 30602).
