With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Della E. Evans-Maxey of Athens, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 25, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Della farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Della is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She is survived by: her husband William Maxey; her mother Thelma Evans; her children, Randy Wooten (Jacqueline), Aaviance Evans, Danielle Holloman (Demetrius) and Cedrick Lattimore; her siblings, Julia Evans, Johnny Evans, Pearl Edwards, Sherry McRae and Tommy Evans; and her aunt Mary Sutton. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
