She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Williams and Lois Bell Williams. She is survived by: her husband Lewis Gainey; her daughters, Molly McCarty (Wayne) of Jefferson and Julia Little (Scott) of Milledgeville; and her granddaughters, Lanie McCarty, Maryn McCarty and Emma Kate Little.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts to one of her requested organizations: Foundation for Excellence in Public Education (Clarke County, Georgia).
