Eleanor Lucille (Bell) Grier Obituary
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Eleanor Grier, our loving and devoted mother, and friend to all whose lives she touched, on August 28th, 2021. She left us peacefully at home with her family by her side.
She is survived by her sons Joel and Carl, their spouses Laura and Cindy, three grandsons, Alex, Austin, and Jason, her brother Robert "Bobby", sister Nadine and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her devoted husband Jesse, sisters Gloria and Viola, and brothers Harold and Jessie "Junior".
Her pride and love of her family was always at the top of the list of anything she ever did. She was a devout Christian and Atlanta Braves fan. If you were lucky enough to have experienced one of her Lemon Pudding, German Chocolate, or Pound cakes while she was still baking, you understand why we consider her the original "Cake Boss".
Anyone that spent time with her knows that her lifelong laugh was legendary. Even when others around her couldn't find anything to laugh about, it was a signature trait that brought smiles and warmth to anyone that heard it, even in her latter days.
She was a lifelong Georgia resident and will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider making donations in her name to the American Cancer Society, the ALS Foundation, or worthy charity of your choice.
There will be a Celebration of Life event for family and friends on Saturday, October 2nd from 1:00PM to 4:00 PM at 1131 Hollow Creek Lane, Watkinsville, GA 30677
