He was predeceased by: his parents, Harrold and Emily Herrin of Winder; and his half-brother Harrold Milford Herrin, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Lee McGee Herrin; his grandchildren, Suzanne McCabe (Parker) of New York, Frances Delk (William) of Augusta, Will Herrin of Athens, Charles McPherson of Columbus, Meg McPherson of Columbus, Mary Wilhite of Memphis and Walker Wilhite of Memphis, Tennessee.; Andrew Herrin (Clara), Amanda McPherson (Kevin) and Amy Wilhite (Steve).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bernstein Funeral Home (3195 Atlanta Hwy, Athens, GA 30606). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Athens (327 N Lumpkin St, Athens, GA 30601). A burial will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at the Oconee Hill Cemetery (297 Cemetery St, Athens, GA 30605).
He was involved with the Medical Association of Georgia and Alliant-Georgia Medical Care Foundation.
