She was predeceased by: her parents, George W. Smith, Sr. and Olivia Hale Smith; her brother Anthony L. Smith; and her son Douglas Tyson "Ty" Martin. She is survived by: her husband Douglas E. Martin; her son Jared Martin; her brother George W. Smith, Jr. (Nancy) of Athens; and her grandchildren, Christopher Meurer, Edward Witchie, Ethan Martin, Laura Martin and Breanna Martin.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Bernstein Funeral Home (3195 Atlanta Hwy, Athens, GA 30606). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Athens (355 Pulaski St, Athens, GA 30601).
